Backblaze restore file information1/17/2024 About 85% of our customers would save money simply by switching to B2, they just feel better paying a fixed price. If you use Veeam it means you are at least fairly technical, know how much data you have, and would probably save money by going with Backblaze B2. The reason it is a "fixed price" of $7/month is so that non-technical customers who don't know how much data they have can relax, not worry about it, and just know what their monthly bill is. You can read this web page on it: īackblaze Personal Backup is designed primarily for non-technical customers. B2 was designed explicitly to backup Veeam, and it is our most common use case. You should consider Backblaze B2 and Veeam. Hopefully soon we (Backblaze) will release the native restore client we are working on and you can download 900 TBytes (not GBytes, that is Terabytes) in one file. The only feasible way I could think of having this file restored. They would download a 1 TByte ZIP file, then not have the space (locally on their laptop) to unzip it. What we found was that it was frustrating for non-technical customers. There is a restore limit of 500GB per zip file when downloading from the Web I'd like to have a cloud copy of this file as well as my local copy. My Windows OS is highly customised however, and I have an Image-based Veeam backup to preserve a copy of the OS to restore to a new drive in case of an OS Drive failure. I know Backblaze Personal is intended to backup your computer on a file-by-file basis. The only feasible way I could think of having this file restored (if it could be uploaded in the first place) is to order a restore drive. Would that even successfully upload to Backblaze Personal Backup? Given that this Backup file can't be broken into 2 smaller files for a downloadable restore, what would happen? Will the Backblaze client even allow me to upload a file larger than 500GB? As I understand, there is a restore limit of 500GB per zip file when downloading from the Web, but what would happen if you need to restore a file larger than 500GB in size?Īs an example, let's say I have a 1TB Full Veeam Backup file of my PC on an attached drive.
